The purpose of this paper is to introduce translators to current issues in international development and some of the related English and Spanish terminology. Selected English terms that are commonly used by international organizations are defined and possible Spanish translations discussed. The definitions and translations, which can be found in the attached glossary, are taken from a variety of sources, but are not necessarily an exhaustive list of possibilities.
