<br/><br/> This concise study has tried to provide with a brief theoretical view at the role of the observance of Grice' Cooperative Principle in original metaphor, with the final purpose of facilitating its translation in Scientific and Technical Texts. It maintains that the translator must reflect faithfully the apparent violation of this principle in the Target Text, since it is inherent to the nature of original metaphor. We argue that this position can account for the writer's final intention and for individual and emotional factors and attitudes that may be considered in the process of disambiguations of this rhetorical figure.
