Resumen: Language Engineering and Translation places the activity of technical translation into the modern environment of information technology. Resumen: Este trabajo de M.Teresa Cabré es un tratado sobre los términos especializados, destinados no sólo a los profesionales del lenguaje, sino a todas las personas interesadas en las cuestiones sociales y técnicas de la comunicación. Comprende prácticamente todos los aspectos de la terminlogía, concebida tnato en su vertiente disciplinaria como en su dimensión social y política. La terminología es tratada aquí como materia teórica y como materia aplicada: se presentan sus contenidos conceptuales y se exponen los métodos de trabajo que rigen en su aplicación, especialmente en la confección de diccionarios especializados. La autora ha sido profesora de lingüística Descriptiva Catalana en la Universidad de Barcelona, es catedrática de Lingüística y Terminología en la Universidad Pompeu Fabra y forma parte del Comité Científico de Unión Latina.
