Resumen: "Barbara Webb redactó la primera edición de su admirable diccionario hace treinta años. Desde entonces ha habido importantes cambios en los yates y su equipamiento. (...) Resumen: Este trabajo se deriva del proyecto de investigación "Diseño de un tipologizador textual para la traducción automática de textos jurídicos (español/inglés/alemán/italiano/árabe)". El objetivo de dicho proyecto de investigación fue el diseño y posterior implementación de una herramienta informática capaz de generar automáticamente un determinado tipo de texto jurídico en español, inglés, alemán, italiano y árabe. Concretamente, se centró en el contrato de compraventa de bienes inmuebles, para el cual se ha elaborado una interlengua a partir de conceptos jurídicos en forma de gramática lógica subyacente y orientada hacia la creación de un generador automático multilingüe. Los capítulos de este libro son el fruto de las investigaciones realizadas en el seno del proyecto, sobre todo en lo que se refiere al establecimiento de prototipos textuales.

Resumen: Este trabalho trata da extração e da classificação de <Combinatórias Léxicas Especializadas> (<CLEs>) no âmbito do Projeto Combinatórias Léxicas Especializadas da Linguagem Legal, Normativa e Científica, desenvolvido pelo Grupo Termisul. Os corpora dos quais as CLEs foram extraídas são compostos por textos legislativos em seis línguas: português, alemão, espanhol, francês, inglês e italiano. Para a extração das CLEs, foram utilizadas ferramentasconstruídas pelo próprio grupo listador de palavras, gerador de n-gramas, de clusters e de concordâncias, e do programa AntConc. As CLEs repertoriadas foram classificadas em jurídicas e terminológicas. Caracterizamos cada um dos grupos por suas propriedades sintáticas, semânticas e pragmáticas e discutimos os problemas surgidos para estabelecer os limites das combinatórias. Com os resultados obtidos, espera-se poder oferecer uma base de dados on-line para tradutores e redatores especializados.

Resumen: En esta obra original, que contó desde su inicio con el apoyo de la Unión Latina, Sergio Corrêa da Costa ha reunido y comentado una colección de dieciséis mil ejemplos de usos de lo que él llama las "palabras sin fronteras", es decir, aquellos vocablos que han sobrepasado las fronteras de los países en que nacieron y se han convertido en portadoras de una especie de denominación de origen. Estas palabras, que pueden designar tanto nociones abstractas o funciones, como objetos usuales o indicaciones de la mayor trivialidad, se dispersan un poco por todas partes y acaban por constituir una especie de "vocabulario sin fronteras" que crece sin cesar y acerca a las distintas culturas. "Es un libro de lingüística, cuyo autor no es un lingüista, sino más bien un humanista". El autor se ha interesado únicamente en las palabras trasladadas de una lengua a otras, ya sea conservándola intacta, ya sea con modificaciones formales poco importantes. Para no convertir en demasiado técnica la presentación tipográfica de los ejemplos de uso de estos préstamos lingüísticos, las distintas variantes existentes en ciertos países van a continuación de las palabras y expresiones, detrás de una barra diagonal, sin otra distinción cualitativa.

Resumen: El insulto ofrece una abundante información acerca de los aspectos más "etnoespecíficos" de una lengua, y al mismo tiempo sobre posibles universales lingüísticos, de allí tal vez la indudable fascinación que siempre ha suscitado entre los escritores, auque el mundo académico haya esperado épocas relativamente recientes para abordar su estudio. El presente articulo es parte de una serie más amplia dedicada al léxico denigratorio en varias lenguas, especialmente la nuestra, y parte se centra en uno de los temas de mayor productividad léxica de este campo: la debilidad de las facultades intelectuales. Resumen: El traductor que se aboca a su quehacer propio, es decir, a traducir, se enfrenta a múltiples problemas; pero lo que siempre le causa sorpresa es que, muy a menudo, le asaltan dudas en lo que se refiere a la traducción de los determinantes nominales, especialmente de los artículos. En los casos en que se presentan estas dudas, el traductor da una solución, guiado por el sentido del texto o por su intuición lingüística; su solución es casi siempre buena, pero, a la vez, susceptible de ser mejorada.Las lenguas que constituyen la actividad traductora esencial en nuestro medio (alemán, español, francés e inglés) presentan todas el mismo sistema para expresar la modalidad nominal.

Resumen: En su discurso inaugural, la profesora Kjaer pasaba revista a los distintos enfoques y puntos de vista que han caracterizado la investigación fraseologica hasta mis idas y señalaba además que hay grandes diferencias entre las opiniones sobre lo que deba entenderse exactamente por él termino "Fraseologia". También parece estar bastante claro que el estudio de la Fraseologia se ha desarrollado generalmente con relación al lenguaje para fines generales (LGP) de la mano de lingüistas y filólogos poco o nada vinculados con el lenguaje para fines específicos.

Resumen: Las estructuras o construcciones pronominales -los usos del "se"- no constituyen precisamente una materia inédita dentro del panorama bibliográfico de la gramática del español, como sucede con tantos otros aspectos idiosincrásicos de nuestra lengua: "ser y estar", indefinido e imperfecto, el subjuntivo, etc. Pero esa abundancia bibliográfica - que representa una prueba indirecta de ese carácter idiosincrásico- no significa que este todo dicho sobre la particular.

Resumen: This article provides a critical overview of recent research on cross-cultural divergences between English, French and German academic writing, demonstrating its relevance to translation. The author starts by discussing Galtung’s notion of culture-specific intellectual styles. He then explores the relationship between composition teaching and writing style. This is followed by a detailed discussion of cross-language comparisons of various text types which lend evidence to significant differences between the linguacultures under survey. The resultant plurality of linguacultures, the author goes on to argue, must be preserved as a value in itself, and merits special attention on the part of the translator
