Resumen: The chapter of this volume are based om paper presented at the International Symposium on Language Processing and Interpreting held in Stockholm in february 1997. The focus of the conference was on simultaneous interpreting, and its aim was to bring together researchers from the areas of psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic to discuss how theories and methodology from various disciplines could be fruitfully applied to the study of simultaneous interpreting and, also, to suggest ways in wwhich the study of simultaneous interpreting migth contribute to knowledge in these areas.
