Resumen: The glossaries in this book are no intendet to replace dictionaries in the cour interpreter ́s reference library. The are, rather, a compilation of terms, some of which do not appera in any dictionary, that I have found useful over the years. The purpose of this Fourth Edition of The Interpreter ́s Companion. like that of its predecessors, is to bring together terms from a variety of fields into a single volume and thus obviate the need to carry several dictionnaries on interpreting assignments. The terms that appear here are those that I ́ve encountered most often in my work as an interpreter, as well as other, less frequently encountered terms that are vevertheless useful and hard to find elsewhere.
