Resumen: ATA's Certification Committee is pleased to inform all members and interested persons of some important changes in ATA's Certification Program taking effect in 2017. As you may know, to pass the certification exam and become ATA-certified, an ATA member must translate two passages (each between 225 and 275 words) successfully. That will still be required. However, the following changes will be implemented in 2017.

Resumen: El pasado sábado 16 de mayo y el 6 de junio de de 2009 se dictó un taller introductorio de Microeconomía y de Macroeconomía destinado a los traductores públicos de todos los idiomas. En el mismo se repasaron definiciones básicas de la Economía como ciencia y su división entre Microeconomía y Macroeconomía. Asimismo, se analizaron los distintos componentes que conforman un mercado y los tipos de mercado que existen, las fallas que atentan contra la eficiencia de los mercados y las potenciales intervenciones de política por parte del Estado. Finalmente, se procedió a analizar las características microeconómicas de un conjunto de sectores económicos específicos en la Argentina.
