En: Annual Conference, 44thResumen: This paper focuses on corporate documents in the U.S. and in México. In Spanish-speaking countries, corporate documents often take the form of escrituras, which use archaic lenguage and sometimes refer to formalities that have no equivalent in the U.S. This paper will analyze the contents and legal purpose of common types of corporate escrituras. Solutions will be offered to translate terms commonly used in Spanish legalese. The role of the Mexican notary will also be dicussed.
