Resumen: Este libro es una obra colectiva de un grupo de profesores de diversas universidades de España interesados en la investigación y docencia de la traducción e interpretación francés-español. La primera parte es una presentación de las aportaciones más relevantes en el campo de la teoría de la traducción, así como una exposición teórico-práctica de las principales ramas de la traducción especializada: económica y comercial, jurídica, técnica y literaria. La segunda mitad de la obra está dedicada a otros temas básicos de la traducción: la autotraducción, el doblaje, el análisis contrastivo de lenguas desde la óptica de la traducción, el diccionario bilingüe, la interpretación y la documentación en el campo de la traducción francés-español.

Resumen: The main purpose of this study is to compare and contrast the English-Chinese translated financial terms of Mainland China and Hong Kong in light of the necessary criteria for special communication terminology, and explore the feasibility of standardisation. Some distinctive linguistic properties and translation methods of the two regions' Chinese financial terminology will be illustrated based on data from an industry glossary and major bank annual reports. The present situation is that Mainland China and Hong Kong display both similarities and differences in their Chinese translation of financial terms. With the increasing contact since the 1997 handover, the two regions appear to have been influencing each other, especially in that Mainland China has been adopting Hong Kong's Chinese translations. In view of the fact that some translation scholars and practitioners advocate the standardisation of Chinese financial terminology in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for the sake of better economic development, this paper outlines the main properties of the two regions' terminologies and evaluates how such standardisation might possibly proceed. Limited research has been done with regard to the translation of Chinese financial terminology and this exploratory study will fill that gap and attract similar studies in the translation and terminology fields.

Resumen: "What do ministers of finance talk about when they get together? Based on a Spanish-language source text on Latin America, this lecture will explore the basics of economics, with emphasis on meaning and proper usage in English and Spanish. The main topics covered will be GDP growth, exchange rate regimes, the balance of trade, the fiscal deficit, unemployment and inflation. Background information and comparative statistics will be given to highlight the significance of the terms in the context of Latin America and its development. All the terms discussed will be listed in a Spanish-English glossary, with definitions specifically tailored to the needs of translators".
