La lengua es un producto social que refleja fielmente la cultura de la sociedad que la utiliza. La relación de causa y efecto entre la cultura, en sentido amplio, y la lengua, traduce los vínculos consustanciales que mantienen entre ellas. De esta manera, el derecho, inevitablemente, se inscribe en la cultura jurídica y, a través de ella, en una tradición jurídica. Esta cultura jurídica, moldeada por la historia, el entorno humano, social y económico, a la vez que por opciones ideológicas, constituyeuno de los afluentes vitales del gran río de la cultura de un pueblo. El traductor, intermediario entre dos lenguas, dos culturas y dos tradiciones jurídicas, es mensajero de culturas y cabalga permanentemente al borde del precipicio.
