Latinos are the minority group with the highest growth rate in North Carolina, and many health research effort are targeted to this population. it is essential to understand not only the characteristics of this population but also how they operate when faced with a written survey. through a specific example, this paper aims to provide insight into some cognitive aspects of answering surveys and to make a few recommendations for translators who aid health care researchers.
