Challenging conventional wisdom : a corpus-based model for interpreter performance evaluation

One of the analyses performed on this corpus compares the types and frequency of errors of studen interpreters working into their non-native language to the errors made when working into their native language. Each error or shift is considered in terms of two factors: its effect on the conservation or distortion of the original message and the mechanics by which the error or shift occurs. Contrary to "conventional wisdom" about native-language bias in interpreted into their native or dominant language. Possible causes and remedies are presented.
