Resumen: This article aims to examine the most frequent strategies used in translation of interjections in Persian translated versions of English dramas. The corpus consists of the odd acts of three English drama texts and the data consists of original English interjections which are compared with their Persian translational equivalents in terms of translation strategies. Interjections are analyzed in four categories as primary interjections, secondary interjections, primary + secondary interjections and primary intejections + affirmation/negation.

Resumen: This article analyses interjections, a very specific element of orality, in a corpus of sitcoms both dubbed into Catalan and originally shot in Catalan. After defining interjections and describing the corpus used to carry out the analysis, a comparison between the number of interjections contained in the dubbed sitcoms of the corpus and the number of interjections included in those originally shot in Catalan is presented. This data is also compared to the percentage of interjections found in a corpus of real spontaneous conversations in Catalan. Finally, the possible effects of the constraints of dubbing on the orality of dubbed products are discussed and the changes interjections undergo during this dynamic process are highlighted.

Resumen: This paper consists of an analysis of the expressive secondary interjections found in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral and their equivalents in the Spanish and Catalan dubbed versions. The contrastive analysis of the interjections in the original English version compared with the Spanish and the Catalan dubbed versions shows that the strategies followed by the translators are different: literal translation is far more frequent in Spanish than in Catalan. Literal translation often implies an error that is pragmatic in nature since it derives from the misunderstanding of the pragmatic meaning that the interjection conveys.

Resumen: This paper is trans-cultural approach to the analysis of interjectional and translational issues. 'Interjection' is here intended as an umbrella term extended to a range of emotional utterances along a continuum of primary exclamatory remarks (oh, ah), expletives, greetings, and blessings Interjections, however, may feature either as culture-specific items or be universal and international. The present corpus includes a thematic-based selection including written literature, drama, film adaptation, cartoons and sacred texts. The framework of analysis is thematization within a cross-cultural interface.

Resumen: The relationship between texts and images in comics is essential from the graphic point of view and for the understanding of the story. Hence, the translation of comics has certain peculiarities that other literature genres do not have, partly due to its combination of iconic language and literary language. Among the wide array of interesting topics within this field, we are going to focus on a great challenge for translators: the graphic and phonetic values of the sounds in comics. Technical advances have improved comic books translation: nowadays modifying an element of the vignette no longer involves redrawing the whole animation. Thus, the translation of this literature genre can now focus on other problematic issues, such as the translation of sounds. Taking into account the lack of categorization of these sounds, this article deals with the translation of inarticulate sounds, interjections and onomatopoeias from English comic books into Spanish in order to observe the existing trends in these issues and to confirm if the new technologies have changed the translators' task in the last 25 years.

Resumen: Cette étude examine les différentes stratégies mises en oeuvre par les traducteurs pour rendre en français l’expressivité des interjections onomatopéiques coréennes. À la différence de l’onomatopée, une interjection est, en réaction à une situation vécue, pourvue d’un affect, d’une intention de communiquer (expressive ou injonctive). Entre manifestation émotionnelle et formulation implicite, leur ambiguïté sémantique ne permet pas d’en interpréter aisément la valeur situationnelle, telle qu’elle est communément interprétée dans la culture d’origine. À défaut d’interjections équivalentes en langue cible, les traducteurs des interjections coréennes ont donc alternativement recours soit à de simples translittérations, soit à des reformulations plus explicites non interjectives. Après avoir défini le cadre de notre étude, nous étudierons, par des exemples empruntés à la littérature coréenne, les différentes stratégies qui permettent de traduire et transmettre en français la valeur expressive et la charge émotive de ces éléments de langage dits « primaires ». Enfin, nous proposerons quelques solutions de rechange non interjectives ou somatiques pour rendre perceptible leur densité sémantique.
