Resumen: Reliable terminology is a vital prerequisite for efficient, unambiguous communication in international business. This technical dictionary is a result of terminological work carried out by the Translation Department of Siemens AG in Erlangen and covers the field of power engineering, electrical installation and the rapidly expanding field of automation. The following subjects are covered by approximately 60000 entries: basic electrotechnical terms and standards, electrical machines, switchgear, electrical systems and networks, electrical installation engineering (including cables and lighting), power electronics, protective devices and relays, electrical measurement and analysis engineering, telecontrol, semiconductor devices, integrated circuits, automation engineering (control, engineering, electronic controls, programmable and numerical controls, microprocessor-based controls, process control), test engineering, quality assurance and reliability.

Resumen: This volume includes about 6000 words more than the english-german edition, and thus contains approximately 66000 entries. The new words have been drawn particularly from the fields of astronautics, radar, information theory, computers and general physics. Volume II commences in the same way as Vol. I with a list of mathematical terms and symbols, followed by a list ao greek symbols with their meanings in electrical engineering and physics. The abbreviations, however, precede each letter instead of being distributed throughout the book. The last three pages contain a supplement.
