Tras una delimitación conceptual de los diferentes fenómenos colaborativos, el artículo se centra en cómo este nuevo paradigma está afectando a la traducción profesional, confrontando las ventajas y desventajas del proceso tradicional frente al proceso colaborativo. Asimismo, se analizan diferentes recursos existentes en la actualidad a disposición de traductores y terminólogos para el trabajo colaborativo y se plantean cuáles son los retos que quedan por afrontar para que este modelo se establezca como alternativa real.
