This work presents an up-to-date treatment of the principal issues pertaining lo court interpreting in the United States. It provides a synthesis of information regarding court interpreting, based upon a variety of published and unpublished sources, many of them obscure or otherwise difficult to access. The approach is by necessity interdisciplinary, dealing with languages in contact, bilingualism, dialectal varieties of language, the interpreting process, and legal issues.
