A study carried out at the University of Córdoba showed that most of the participating research scientists had abandoned using translation as a route to publication and had opted to write directly in English. The reason stated was: «The likelihood of a translator being completely fluent in the two languages and also having appropriate scientific knowledge and sensitivity is small»
