Mr Savory is an analyser, a compressor, he gets straigth down to the difficultires and the various theories which have been evolved to cope with them. I think anyone about to engage in translation should read his book, and all readers of translation will benefit also "Cyril Connolly, Sunday Times". Savory, a former public schoool master, was born in London in 1896. He was science master at Malver College from 1920 until 1951, when he was appointed senior biology master at the Haberdashers Aske ́s Hampstead School.
