Resumen: Dice Rolando Costa Picazo, como conclusión, que las versiones de Faulkner al castellano no satisfacen de manera plena, lo que se debe a la serie de factores históricos, económicos y culturales principalmente y al hecho de que en la traducción de un escritor de primera magnitud no se ha seguido un criterio de lo que llamamos "traducción ajustada". No se trata del tan vapuleado criterio de la literalidad, que sabemos imposible de aplicar "literalmente", sino de un enfoque que, sin forzar las normas del castellano, procure en lo posible respetar las características del estilo del autor que se traduce.

Resumen: Expansion of the spanish training program for probationary patrol inspectors has made it necessary to enlarge the original texto to include additional grammar now taught at the border patrol academy, to eliminate obsolete practice material and to increase the vocabulary section by including words in modern use. The spanish-english vocabulary ncludes only the spanish words used in the text. The english-spanish vocabulary contains many words that are not in the text, but which should be helpful to patrol officers. A rather complete listo of idiomatic and other useful expressions is included with particular attention to those used along the mexican border.

Resumen: In this book, we have tried to speak of the grammatical structures of two languages in a way that could reasonably be expected to be understood by non-linguists who bring motivation, intelligence, and time, but no considerable amount of training in linguistics as such, to the task. The enormous complexity of linguistic behavior is surprising in view of the fact that so high a percentage of it is readily mastered by young children. Yet only a samll fraction of the complexity has been adequately described by generations of scholars.

Resumen: This article throws some light on the problems syntactically-complex sentences posit to Arab translation students. Despite its importance, this problem has been almost ingored by translation teachers, authors and researchers. To spell out the nature and volume of the problem, an empirical study was carried out on ten Arab students majoring in English language and translation.
