Resumen: ATA`s pro bono project, Wich is understaken in conjuntion with ATA`s Anual Conference, highlights the critical role that translators and interpreters play in our society, and often gives volunteers an opportunity to make difference. In 2007, ATA`s pro bono project ventured into new territory. For the first time, ATA partnered with its local chapter, in this case the Northen California Translators Association (NCTA), to develop and implement a pro bono project that combines several innovations.

Resumen: ATA is committed to promoting high standards in translator and interpreter training and to the development of translation and interpreting programs within the American educational system. At the ATA Board of Directors' January meeting, the Board was briefed on the expanded charge for the Education and Pedagogy Committee. The committee will broaden its reach and scope of activities to monitor translation and interpreting (T&I) programs in the U.S. at every level. It will also cultivate and maintain relationships with several allied organizations. (For example, the committee serves as a liaison to the American Translation and Interpreting Studies Association.)

Resumen: The Certification Committee is happy to report here on certification pass rates for 2004-2014.1 Pass rates have remained relatively stable over time, and this is reflected in the 2004-2014 data as well. To describe the results effectively and avoid distortion, the information has been divided into two groups: 1) languages with 40 or more exams in the reporting period; and 2) languages with extremely low volume (ELV), defined as language pairs with fewer than 40 exams in the reporting period.

Resumen: Many translators first learn about the American Translators Association (ATA) through its translator certification program. However, they are often unfamiliar with the many other benefits ATA has for translators and interpreters. Many of the benefits are available online, so they can be accessed by linguists from all over the world. This presentation will provide an overview of the many benefits available. Now in its 5oth year of existence, ATA is the largest organization of translators and interpreters in the United States. It has over 11,000 members,1 including a large international membership, with many members from South America.
