Estos textos constituyen un elemento clave en la elaboración del discurso compartido con el que la profesión en su conjunto se presenta ante la sociedad. El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer cómo la reflexión colectiva de los traductores aborda las cuestiones de ética profesional y qué conclusiones se obtienen en relación con la actual situación de la profesión. Para ello, se analizan los códigos de las asociaciones de traductores y de profesionales afines con presencia en España. Se identifican aquellos elementos recogidos en los mismos que tienen un correlato en las principales corrientes de la ética. Se comparan estos códigos con los de profesionales más consolidados (médicos y abogados). Los resultados obtenidos proporcionan datos interesantes sobre la imagen que la sociedad tiene de la traducción, sus límites cada vez más difusos y su creciente dimensión económica. Este trabajo aporta una nueva perspectiva sobre el contenido y alcance de los códigos deontológicos estudiados dadas las propuestas teóricas y metodológicas en las que se basa y la exhaustividad con la que se analiza el área focalizada. Sin embargo, esta característica se hace especialmente evidente cuando nos acercamos a la comunicación a través de lenguas diversas, no siempre coincidentes con la original; al hacerlo, entramos de lleno en el ámbito de los estudios de traducción. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es reflexionar sobre la comparación propiciada por corpus multilingües, planteando una serie de preguntas clave, entre las que destacamos las siguientes: ¿cómo propiciamos comparaciones entre corpus de lenguas diversas o en el seno de estos?; ¿cómo identificamos unidades lingüísticas significativas para la comparación en estos contextos?; ¿cómo sabemos que estamos generando comparaciones de componentes equiparables? Utilizando una serie de estudios de casos, nuestra reflexión comienza en el plano léxico para, luego, adentrarnos en el estudio de los campos semánticos, los marcos del discurso y los rasgos retóricos. Outre sa fonction première, qui consiste à indiquer qu’une réflexion a été empruntée à un autre auteur, elle réalise au moins deux autres objectifs. Elle signale, d’une part, que l’article qui la contient entretient des rapports dialogiques avec un ensemble de textes antérieurs. De l’autre, elle cherche, en établissant des liens avec des travaux antérieurs, à augmenter la force de persuasion de l’article dans lequel elle s’insère. La citation peut, par ailleurs, avoir un autre objectif, qui est, cependant, beaucoup moins étudié. En effet, elle peut viser à rehausser l’efficacité et la précision du langage utilisé pour exprimer le contenu de l’article. La citation retrace et analyse, dans ce cas, des emplois antérieurs d’un terme souvent afin d’en préciser le sens. Ce type de citation, que nous nommons marqueur sémantique (Collet 2016, 2018), se repère, entre autres, dans les articles en sciences humaines et sociales. Notre but est de présenter les types de renseignements métalangagiers ou sémantiques qu’une telle citation est susceptible de contenir. Nous nous servirons à cette fin de données tirées d’un corpus couvrant plusieurs disciplines en sciences humaines et sociales, notamment la linguistique, la psychologie, la sociologie et l’histoire. Nous démontrerons également par une analyse quantitative que le recours aux marqueurs sémantiques est bien établi au sein des domaines susmentionnés. En ocasiones, los hablantes de una variedad estigmatizada tratan de alterar la relación de fuerzas deshaciéndose de su estigma e incrementando su prestigio lingüístico. La traducción constituye uno de los mecanismos que permite elevar la categoría de una variedad estigmatizada: al traducir una obra canonizada hacia la variedad no dominante, se produce una transferencia de capital simbólico desde la obra hacia la lengua de llegada, de manera que esta consigue presentarse como una lengua de cultura. En este trabajo estudiaremos la traducción de Le Petit Prince que Juan Porras ha realizado en una de las hablas andaluzas más estigmatizadas en España. El objetivo de esta traducción es reivindicar esta variedad y presentarla como el reflejo de una identidad andaluza alienada durante siglos por la colonización castellana, según el traductor. Además de describir las características lingüísticas de esta versión, analizaremos las críticas de las que ha sido objeto. Esta recepción tan adversa nos permitirá evaluar el grado de conciencia lingüística que existe actualmente en Andalucía y compararlo con el de otras comunidades de habla que sí han acogido favorablemente este tipo de traducciones reivindicativas de una identidad nacional. This complicates the identification of a translation’s ST, which in turn creates problems for research. Associating translations with the incorrect ST(s) leads to questionable conclusions and categorizations, especially when dealing with the types of translation that are defined and theorized with reference to their relationship with their ST(s), such as retranslation, indirect translation, pseudotranslation and self-translation. Our case study of five Finnish translations of Jules Verne’s Vingt mille lieues sous les mer demonstrates that these assumed retranslations have different STs. We adopt the notions of work and text to establish the relationships among the translations and STs involved: texts are representations of a work, and a work, in turn, is a literary creation implied by its various texts. Although the five Finnish translations have different source texts, they are all – as are their STs – texts of the same work. In other words, if source text is understood to be a text, the five translations are not, strictly speaking, retranslations; however, if source text is understood to be a work, then they are all retranslations of the same work. Therefore, the categorization of these translations – and thus also the points of view from which they can be studied – depends on whether source text is defined as a text or as a work. Several studies confirm that subtitling and dubbing are beneficial for productive and receptive skills, vocabulary acquisition, translation competence, and learners’ motivation and engagement. However, research in the field has been devoted primarily to university students enrolled in translation and language programmes, and there is a dearth of papers exploring the use of AVT in early educational stages. This paper is intended to fill this gap by examining the perceptions of primary education students on the use of interlingual subtitling and creative dubbing in learning English at school. The sample includes 120 students from 10 public primary schools in Spain who participated in a 3-month teaching study. The research tool was a student questionnaire aimed at gathering their perceptions on the use of AVT; this survey was complemented with in-class observations. Results underline the favourable views students had on the use of AVT in language learning in primary education, with a slight preference for dubbing over subtitling. Since then, numerous comprehensive studies on the translation of various genres have been produced, all of them making extensive use of the censorship files issued and archived by the regime as their main source of information. However, little to no reflection has been done on the structure, usefulness and reliability of those data. This paper examines archival sources in translation and censorship, delving into the AGA’s history and structure, as well as its unique position as a censorship repository. It describes the AGA’s document collections on censored cultural artefacts and the possibilities they afford to study the impact of censorship on the translation of various text types. Ultimately, it argues that while AGA data have proved to be a key component in censorship research in Spain, complementary information is essential in reconstructing translation activity at the time and to ascertain how textual changes observed in censored translations came about. The primary motivation behind the study is that the potential advantages of CJ may make it a promising alternative to ARS. When conducting CJ on interpreting, judges need to compare two renditions and decide which one is of higher quality. Such binary decisions are then modeled statistically to produce a scaled rank order of the renditions from “worst” to “best.” We set up an experiment in which two groups of raters/judges of varying scoring expertise applied both CJ and ARS to assess 40 samples of English-Chinese consecutive interpreting. Our analysis of quantitative data suggests that overall ARS outperformed CJ in terms of validity, reliability, practicality and acceptability. Qualitative questionnaire data helped us obtain insights into the judges’/raters’ perceived advantages and disadvantages of CJ and ARS. Based on the findings, we tried to account for CJ’s underperformance vis-à-vis ARS, focusing on the specificities of interpreting assessment. Se aplican los parámetros de rastreabilidad, congruencia de realización y refinamiento para determinar el estatus de explicitación, que se concibe como selecciones hechas por el traductor en el potencial sistémico de la LM. El carácter explícito se determina desde la perspectiva de la instanciación de registro mediante la comparación de frecuencias de diferentes tipos de traducciones con las encontradas en un corpus comparable de no traducciones en LM. À la différence de l’onomatopée, une interjection est, en réaction à une situation vécue, pourvue d’un affect, d’une intention de communiquer (expressive ou injonctive). Entre manifestation émotionnelle et formulation implicite, leur ambiguïté sémantique ne permet pas d’en interpréter aisément la valeur situationnelle, telle qu’elle est communément interprétée dans la culture d’origine. À défaut d’interjections équivalentes en langue cible, les traducteurs des interjections coréennes ont donc alternativement recours soit à de simples translittérations, soit à des reformulations plus explicites non interjectives. Après avoir défini le cadre de notre étude, nous étudierons, par des exemples empruntés à la littérature coréenne, les différentes stratégies qui permettent de traduire et transmettre en français la valeur expressive et la charge émotive de ces éléments de langage dits « primaires ». Enfin, nous proposerons quelques solutions de rechange non interjectives ou somatiques pour rendre perceptible leur densité sémantique.
